Oh, and did I mention how obnoxious the grab and down 1 spam is in MK11? And the fucking krushing blows OH MY GOD what a terrible system. It relies so heavily on BnBs, grabs, and footsies that trying anything more is just inefficient and unsatisfying. There's not nearly as much incentive to experiment with your character in MK11. The combos in MKX were so much more satisfying to learn. is this it? I've already learned this character.
Seriously, I went to learn Skarlet and after 15 minutes in practice it was like. Not to mention the fact that a single variation in MKX felt more fleshed out than most characters in MK11 even if you somehow gave them ALL of their abilities at once. They think they're giving the player more freedom with this ability system when in reality, they've stripped the freedom away entirely from the competitive scene. You didn't have to worry about all of your cool moves being locked away in ranked matches either. The variations in X might not have been perfectly balanced but at least they were all legitimate options that added a lot of variety to each character. The variation system in X just worked out so much better than the horrible ability system that didn't work in Injustice 2 and somehow got even worse in MK11. MKX was a lot better than MK11 in my opinion. Still too much of a scrub to play online though. I now feel disgusted by it and am pretty much only doing towers here and there for fun. I've made a thread not too long ago where I was complaining about the Krypt being way too fucking grindy and honestly it didn't get any better. I'm currently playing 11 and I'm about to quit. I am watching Maximilian videos for a while and to me it seems he not only has much more fun playing X, but it also seems like he's able to do much more variations in X too, with longer combos to boot. The graphics are obviously much better.īut for me it's really the gameplay that feels downgraded overall. The issue is that nearly every character idles at the same speed. While they aren't overdone like they were before, I feel they made them way too static now, like 2 fucking cats watching each other, not moving a muscle and about to jump on each other. The characters idle stances are a hit & miss. It's amazing how for every character I like that didn't return in MK11 they added a different character I like, meaning both games are different flavors of good but both are also missing something.įor sure the combos in general in MK11 all feel very lame compared to what you could do in MK9/X. Overall this is another MK2/MK3 situation for me, where the art direction, roster, and stage differences between games means that both are still worth playing. It is apparently better now than at release, though. Everyone knows this already though so I won't elaborate much on this point. MK11's gore is way too much for me, more so than before Smoke, Reptile, and Ermac's absence is SORELY felt I miss Takeda, both story-wise and gameplay wise (he was my favorite of the Kombat Kids)
This means each local player has to use a very limited selection of skins and gear and go in an set all of their abilities manually, which takes a long time At least on PS4, and I know I sound like a broken record, you can't share unlocks between accounts. My major complaints about what MK11 lacks coming from MKX: Like, it's amazing how they actually look cool now
+Shang Tsung is fucking awesome in this game (his ninja moveset is aces and THEY GOT THE MOVIE ACTOR) +Much more customization, BUT at the expense of accessibility for a second player (local requires that all unlocks be bound to account!!) PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 were planned as well.+For the most part, better designs for returning characters (Kitana I am mixed on)

With frequent patch updates, a still active community with thousands still playing, amazing graphics and gameplay, I don’t see why you wouldn’t play MK X(unless you have MK 11). Is Mortal Kombat X good to play in 2020? I would say better than ever and on a scale out of 1-10 (10 being really good), I’d give it an 8.
